If you are a member of a credit union, you are a part owner of the organization. That means that any profits of the credit union go into your pocket in the form of higher dividends on savings accounts/CD's and lower interest rates on loans. So, because it's much cheaper for the credit union to deliver statements to you electronically than to send you a statement in the mail, you're saving the credit union money, and thus saving yourself money, by signing up.
